Our loose leaf Bancha Tea leaves from Shizuoka. Made from second flush Sencha tea plants. Bancha may be considered "Cheap Tea", but our Roasted Bancha is a High Quality tea and is an economical and tasty tea to be enjoyed everyday. A truly unique flavor and an aroma similar to that of straw. Light and easy on the stomach and very low in caffeine.
Did you know, Bancha Tea leaves are made of the same chemical components of gyokuro? (Although the proportions are a little different). Bancha has less caffeine and amino acids, but is higher in catechin than Gyokuro. A very healthy tea that is very popular in Japan as an "everyday" tea.
